Signing up for, and completing the course does not qualify as CYBA Membership. Applying for CYBA Membership is separate and details can be found on the Membership Requirements Page.

The charter yacht industry has many specialized facets and professional nuances because it serves a small niche market. There is very little information to be found online from any source or authority, requiring most brokers to learn ‘on the job’ at the risk of making mistakes, causing charter clients to be misinformed, charged too much, or otherwise unpleasantly surprised by any number of things. Beyond that, in running these risks, the brokers themselves potentially risk their own good reputation, which is essential in this field.

By signing up for this course, you will be making a commitment to be the best Charter Broker you can be, and we wholeheartedly commend you on your decision.  Only once you are an Active CYBA Member can you use the CYBA Logo on your website and in your email signature.

The CYBA Online New Broker Course is designed to give you a thorough knowledge of the yacht charter business, and provide a resource for you to refer back to for guidance as your career evolves. It entails 10 chapters and, at the end of each chapter, there will be a 10-question multiple choice exam, requiring a passing grade of 80% before you may advance to the next chapter. After successfully completing each of the 10-chapter exams, there will be a final exam of 100 questions, requiring at least 80% correct answers to receive your Certificate of Completion.

The CYBA New Broker Online Course fee is $895, and you will have access to the course modules from the time you make your payment, no matter how long it takes you to complete the course! You will also earn access to any future updates on the course syllabus. As the course is intended to provide you with an educational resource, once you’ve accessed the course, CYBA does not offer any refunds.

Once you’ve completed the course, if you meet CYBA’s membership requirements, we certainly encourage you to apply to become a member. (Completion of the course is NOT required to become a member, however, nor does it give membership automatically.)
